According to SIPO, the turnaround time for China’s trademark application examination will be shortened to 6 months by the end of 2018, and further down to less than 4 months by 2020.

The number of trademark applications in China has increased at an average annual rate of 29% in the past five years; and in 2017, the number of trademark applications reached 5.748 million, up 55.7%. The huge stock and increment of trademark applications raise higher requirements for trademark registration administration.
